Cher reflects on her fashion impact, stars copying her outfits

The 75-year-old singer confided Vogue that she’s all about the stars making their own take on her outfits from the past year. Everyone from Kim kardashian at Emily ratajkowski took a page from his playbook.
âI like it,â the star said in an interview on Tuesday, Jan.4. âI see all the young girls wearing clothes that I have worn all my life. They think it’s new or they see a photo and they love it, so they make their own version. Or they make my version. That does not bother me.
While the majority of Cher’s memorable outfits are couture designs, the “If I Can Turn Back Time” singer, along with ex Sonny, didn’t start out with designer clothes.
âWe had a look that people really didn’t understand at all. We were so proud of our look and our clothes, but we couldn’t do a lot of shows, âshe explained. âNo one was doing what we were doing. There weren’t any stylists to face strangers or do something really different.
Even without a professional team by her side initially, the “Believe” singer managed to become a major style icon. As she started her career with handmade bell stockings, she eventually teamed up with Bob mackie – and still works with the designer to this day.
âBob Mackie was so ahead of everyone else and he had the luxury of never caring what it was,â she said. Vogue. âIt was never too little, it was never too bling. I have always been delighted with everything he has given me. I don’t think I ever hated – maybe a dress or two, that was about it, and it was because of the color.
Perhaps her most memorable look from the designer was the see-through dress she wore to the 1974 Met Gala. The stars have made their own take on the outfit over the years.
For example, Kim Kardashian took inspiration from the icon at the 2015 Met Gala. After her number Roberto Cavalli began to draw comparisons to a dress Beyonce wore in 2012, the founder of Skims set the record straight.
